LiveSTRONG at the YMCA is a place for cancer survivors to regain their lives and improve their quality of life.

LIVESTRONG at the Tri-Community YMCA is a small-group program that helps adult cancer survivors reclaim their health and well-being following a cancer diagnosis. Through this program YMCAs are creating communities among cancer survivors and guiding them through safe physical activity, helping them build supportive relationships, and reducing stress – leading to an improved quality of life.

The goal of the program is to help participants build muscle mass and strength, increase flexibility and endurance, and improve functional ability. Additional goals include reducing the severity of therapy side effects, preventing unwanted weight changes and improving energy levels and self esteem. The program is led by our staff that have been specially trained in the physical and emotional needs of cancer survivors.

Activities are designed to include strength, cardiovascular and balance training, yoga, flexibility, nutrition, aqua aerobics, Zumba®, Pilates and much more.

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a FREE 12-week program and is available to ALL survivors regardless of income, ethnicity or background, member or a non-member.  It is about helping survivors live their life and the Tri-Community YMCA will be with them every step of the way.
